The Google Monopoly
For a quasi-monopoly of a company must have sufficient control over the service or product they offer. A monopoly will have little or no competition for economic goods and services they provide. Like many search marketers discovered, Google quickly control the market for online search and are clearly the dominant force.
There are big questions were raised about how Google was able to get such a strangle hold on the large market research. Google now controls about 70% of the search market and the main question that arises is whether the company played by the rules to gain this much control.

How Google Distributes PageRank
In the area of SEO is much more focus on PageRank as an indicator of the value of a domain. While it is probably one of the most important factors in a field is a value in the eyes of Google, there are some details to mentioned.nnProbably the main factor in the distribution of the PageRank of a web page PageRank pages link to it. The higher the PageRank of web pages with links to a page, the PageRank is more likely. PageRank is assigned to a page higher than the pages linking to it. Thus, if a page has 4 and 3 PageRank 4 PageRank 3 links, it will probably have a PageRank of 4.

So What Does the Microsoft-Yahoo Deal Mean to the SEO World?
Microsoft and Yahoo just announced a 10 year pact for Microsoft to provide search results to Yahoo through their new being the search engine. This deal, while likely good for both parties, still does not close the gap enough to make Google sweat profusely.
The two have been doing a dance for roughly a year and a half, and just when it seemed like Yahoo was ready to get further into bed with Google, this deal finally gets sealed. Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will pay Yahoo 88% of the revenue generated on Yahoo's sites, but they will not pay Yahoo any upfront money which is good for Microsoft as it attempts to close the gap on search market behemoth Google. Combining the two would give Microsoft's new Bing search engine roughly 30% of the search market which is a little over three times what it currently generates.
