The answer is of course the proverbial "it depends". Back links are not easy, but directory entries to be published. How much do you need to successfully lead the search engine you want, however, is a question which bears no simple answer. There are generally two ways to build the link directory submissions.
Quality Approach: Some people warn against too many directory entries and say that you should look for quality presentations, but the quality is difficult to measure. In general, the quality directories that are listed are those that everyone knows - Botwe DMOZ, Yahoo, etc., but these are not the only folders that give back to the left and if you listen to the gurus of the quality, then you finally pays $ 10 - $ 50 for each submission, you try to a folder. Not a good idea, especially if you have a tight budget.
